In Memory of
Brett Fulton and Josh Burch

On June 20, 2011, two of our Forest Rangers, Josh Burch, 31, of Lake City, and Brett Fulton, 52, of White Springs lost their lives battling a wildfire in Hamilton County. To honor the memory of these brave firefighters, State Road 6 between the Madison County Line and State Road 51 in Hamilton County has been designated as the “Brett Fulton and Josh Burch Memorial Highway”.

Brett Fulton
Brett worked with us more than 12 years, mostly as a wildland firefighter and briefly as a welder. He was married with two grown children and several grandchildren.

Josh

Joshua Burch
For more than 10 years Josh was a wildland firefighter with us. He was married with two young boys.
