Forestry Assistance

The Cooperative Forestry Assistance (CFA) section provides information and assistance to all interested Florida citizens, concerning the growth and management of trees. A statewide network of foresters is available to help private landowners manage small to large acreages of forest land as well as assisting community residents with individual trees in their neighborhoods. Foresters can prepare management plans, or provide information on forestry grants. The CFA section also handles statewide forest inventory and analysis, as well as forest health monitoring on an individual or statewide basis.

Forest Stewardship

The Forest Stewardship Program addresses the improvement and maintenance of timber, wildlife, soil and water, recreation, aesthetics, as well as forage resources on non-industrial private forest land through forest land recovery, forest land enhancement, and cost sharing programs for landowners.

Forestry and Wildlife Cost Share Programs

A quick reference designed to provide non-industrial private forest (NIPF) landowners with a brief overview of the primary federal cost-share programs that are available to assist them in implementing forestry and wildlife practices.

Urban and Community Forestry

The Urban and Community Forestry Program (U&CF) encourages city governments and local residents to actively manage the trees in their communities. The Florida Forest Service offers U&CF grants to local governments and groups to help them accomplish this goal, and either provides or directs them to sources of technical assistance. These entities also receive recognition of their efforts through the Tree City USA Program, and encouragement to promote additional efforts by recognizing Florida Arbor Day each year.
