State Forests
Resource Management Plans guide management activities on state forests using a stewardship ethic for people of the state, both present and future.
The Forest Management Bureau is responsible for coordinating and/or administering programs that provide land management activities to small, private, non-industrial landowners in the management of their lands.

The Bureau also provides technical direction for the Florida Forest Service field units, carrying out the land management responsibilities on over 1.1 million acres of forestland in the State.

In addition, the Bureau coordinates acquisition of new state forests through the CARL program and the purchase of in-holdings within existing state forests.

Land Acquisitions

Directs land acquisition and management planning function of state lands managed by the Florida Forest Service as well as providing support functions to the Acquisition and Restoration Council and other state agencies in their efforts to acquire and manage forested timberlands.
